Terms of Use

Last updated: June 23, 2026

1. Agreement to these Terms

These Terms of Use govern your access to and use of Starter Business Kit, including our website, starter kit downloads, website planning tools, client portal, messaging features, and related services. By using the service, downloading a kit, creating an account, or submitting information to us, you agree to these Terms.

If you use Starter Business Kit on behalf of a business or organization, you represent that you have authority to use the service for that business and to provide information about it.

2. About Starter Business Kit

Starter Business Kit provides free starter kits, business templates, checklists, planning resources, and website package information for people starting local service businesses. The service may also let you request a kit by email, create an account, complete a website planner, submit a website inquiry, receive a package recommendation, and exchange messages with our team.

3. Accounts and responsibilities

You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your login credentials and for activity under your account. You agree to provide accurate information and to keep account and project details reasonably current.

You may not use another person’s account without permission, misrepresent your identity or business, or interfere with another user’s access to the service.

4. Starter kits and downloadable materials

Starter kits, worksheets, scripts, checklists, templates, examples, and other downloadable materials are provided for general business planning and educational use. You may use downloaded materials internally for your own business planning and launch work.

Unless we give written permission, you may not resell, redistribute, publish, sublicense, or present our starter kits or templates as your own product or service.

5. Your submissions and project information

You may submit information such as your name, email address, business name, phone number, services, pricing notes, service area, quote form preferences, website goals, domain details, customer notes, messages, and other project information. You retain ownership of the information and content you provide.

By submitting information to Starter Business Kit, you grant us a limited right to host, store, process, display, transmit, and use that information as needed to provide the service, deliver starter kits, manage your account, respond to inquiries, recommend website packages, prepare project follow-up, secure the service, and improve our offerings.

You are responsible for ensuring that the information you submit is accurate and that you have the rights and permissions needed to share it with us.

6. Website planning and professional services

Website planner recommendations, package descriptions, resources, and examples are informational and do not guarantee any particular business result, revenue, search ranking, customer inquiry volume, or launch timeline.

Submitting a planner, kit request, or website inquiry does not by itself create a paid services agreement. Any paid website design, hosting, implementation, consulting, or related work may require a separate written agreement, statement of work, invoice, or other checkout process.

7. Acceptable use

You agree not to:

  • Use the service for unlawful, harmful, abusive, deceptive, or fraudulent purposes.
  • Submit content that infringes intellectual property, privacy, publicity, confidentiality, or other rights.
  • Upload, submit, or transmit malicious code, spam, scams, or content intended to damage the service or other users.
  • Attempt to bypass security controls, download protections, rate limits, account restrictions, or access controls.
  • Scrape, crawl, copy, or extract data from the service without our written permission.
  • Reverse engineer, disrupt, overload, or attempt to compromise the service or its infrastructure.

8. Communications

By requesting a starter kit, creating an account, submitting a planner, sending a message, or making an inquiry, you agree that we may send service-related emails or messages, including download links, account notices, planner confirmations, project follow-up, unread message reminders, and support responses.

If you opt in to marketing or follow-up communications, you may unsubscribe where required by law. Some transactional or account-related messages may still be sent when needed to provide or administer the service.

9. Fees and paid services

Some website packages or services may require payment. Prices, deliverables, timelines, renewal terms, cancellation terms, and refund terms for paid work will be provided separately before you purchase or approve that work.

You are responsible for paying agreed fees and for providing timely project information, feedback, and approvals needed for any paid work to proceed.

10. Third-party services and links

The service may link to or rely on third-party services, including hosting providers, email providers, payment processors, analytics tools, content management systems, domain registrars, and other websites or platforms. We are not responsible for third-party services, and their own terms and policies may apply.

11. Account deletion and retained records

You may be able to delete your account from the account area. Account deletion removes your login, planner data, portal messages, and starter-kit lead records associated with your account, subject to technical, legal, security, backup, and legitimate business limits.

Some business records, such as website inquiries, may be retained for recordkeeping after contact details and message content are removed or de-identified.

12. Service availability and changes

We may update, modify, suspend, or discontinue parts of the service at any time. We are not responsible for delays, interruptions, data loss, expired download links, email delivery issues, or service issues caused by factors outside our reasonable control.

13. Termination

You may stop using the service at any time. We may suspend or terminate access if we believe you have violated these Terms, created risk for us or other users, failed to pay agreed fees, or used the service in a way that may harm Starter Business Kit, other users, or third parties.

14. Disclaimer of warranties

The service and materials are provided “as is” and “as available.” To the maximum extent permitted by law, we disclaim all warranties, whether express, implied, or statutory, including warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, title, and non-infringement.

15. Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, Starter Business Kit will not be liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, exemplary, or punitive damages, or for lost profits, lost revenue, lost data, business interruption, reputational harm, or other losses arising from your use of or inability to use the service.

16. Changes to these Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. If we make material changes, we may notify you through the service, by email, or by other reasonable means. Your continued use of the service after updated Terms become effective means you accept the updated Terms.
